چکیده

Chinese herbal medicine has attracted increasing attention due to its therapeutic effects. It demands understanding of the processing methods and generated changes control quality offer better final products. In this study, extraction differences were compared among direct plant extracts (DE), standard decoction (SD), spontaneous fermentation (SF) inoculated sequential (IF). Results showed that with transformation probiotics positively contributed release functional compounds from herbs. provided strongest antioxidant capacity best amino acid profile. The flavor compositions decoctions further characterized. Distinctive volatile found, indicating different treatments profoundly altered spectrum components. most aromatic in IF group, which corresponded greatest number upregulated lowest downregulated differential compounds. Beneficial intestinal microbiota voluntary intake tea suggested a possible positive metabolism shift healthy host. conclusion, combination enzymatic hydrolysis efficiency than traditional decoction. may enable broader utilization herbs as potential nutrient supplements, such antibiotic alternatives animal husbandry.

Mechano-Enzymatic Deconstruction with a New Enzymatic Cocktail to Enhance Enzymatic Hydrolysis and Bioethanol Fermentation of Two Macroalgae Species.

The aim of this study was to explore the efficiency of a mechano-enzymatic deconstruction of two macroalgae species for sugars and bioethanol production, by using a new enzymatic cocktail (Haliatase) and two types of milling modes (vibro-ball: VBM and centrifugal milling: CM). By increasing the enzymatic concentration from 3.4 to 30 g/L, the total sugars released after 72 h of hydrolysis increa...

Vegemite Beer: yeast extract spreads as nutrient supplements to promote fermentation

Vegemite is an iconic Australian food spread made from spent brewers' yeast extract, which has been reported to be used as an ingredient in illegal home brewing. In this study, we tested the utility of Vegemite and the similar spread Marmite in promoting fermentation. We could not culture microorganisms from either Vegemite or Marmite, consistent with these food-grade spreads being essentially ...

Evaluation of Potential New Opportunities for Herbal Plants as Natural Products on Rumen Fermentation Patterns in vitro

Two experiments (Exp.) were conducted to determine the effects of dietary addition of five herbal plants (HP) alone or as herbal plant mixture (HPM) on in vitro gas production and ruminal fermentation patterns. In Exp. 1, five varieties of HP (garlic, eucalyptus, cinnamon, thyme, and peppermint) were added to the diet at 3 different concentrations (5, 10 and 15% of concentrate dry matt...

Stimulation and inhibition of enzymatic hydrolysis by organosolv lignins as determined by zeta potential and hydrophobicity

BACKGROUND Lignin typically inhibits enzymatic hydrolysis of cellulosic biomass, but certain organosolv lignins or lignosulfonates enhance enzymatic hydrolysis. The hydrophobic and electrostatic interactions between lignin and cellulases play critical roles in the enzymatic hydrolysis process. However, how to incorporate these two interactions into the consideration of lignin effects has not be...

Potential of fermentation byproducts as nitrogen supplements for lactating dairy cows.

Two feeding trials evaluated several byproducts from commercial amino acid fermentations as N supplements for lactating cows. Trial 1 was a replicated 5 x 5 Latin square that used 2-wk periods and 25 Holstein cows (five with ruminal cannulae) fed diets containing [dry matter (DM) basis] 28% alfalfa silage, 31% corn silage, 28% high moisture ear corn plus 4 percentage units of crude protein (CP)...
